Meet Laurie Mauderly-Bush--The Heart of Top Notch Farm
Laurie is fond of saying that she "has never had another job." Since her junior days in Robert Foley's stable she has worked consistently as a rider, trainer, and instructor. Following a stint as an instructor at Betty Baron’s Smoke Tree Farms in Scottsdale, Arizona, Laurie returned to Albuquerque to open her own business. She has been managing her own stable ever since. In 2010 Laurie purchased her own facility in Bosque Farms, NM.
Laurie embraces the philosophy that riding should be fun. Rather than pushing horses and riders beyond their comfort or skill zone, Laurie focuses on building skills and confidence so that her horses and riders can achieve their full potential while still enjoying their sport. This makes her especially skilled with children and riders with confidence or fear issues. The horses she trains are confident and sane jumpers who enjoy their work. |

Laurie brings interested riders to a number of horse shows every year so they have the opportunity to test their skills. These shows range from local schooling shows to some of the top shows in the country in Arizona and Colorado. All Top Notchers have the opportunity to show at the level of competition that is right for them. While Laurie focuses on hunter seat equitation, she has experience training riders in all disciplines. Bull and bronc riders find the jumping improves their seat and their balance. Barrel racers find that it helps with their horse's responsiveness and turning. Whatever your discipline, Laurie can help you improve it.
Whether you are an experienced rider who wants to improve their skills, or a beginner who wants a positive environment to learn this amazing sport, Laurie Mauderly-Bush is the ideal trainer for you. Laurie specializes in creative ways to describe things. See the list of our favorites here. |
